Default Step by Step xD Spacer Shim Installation w/PICS
***Mods could we sticky this please***

Ok. we forgot to take pics on the first side, and it went way too easy... so we took pics on the other side.

here is the spacer shim and hardware for 1 wheel.

Before adding 10mm Randode Spacer Shim:

Break the lug nuts loose, then jack up and support vehicle with jack stands.

Remove the wheel to expose the brake drum.

Make sure the parking brake is released and pull off the drum.

Locate and remove the four hub bolts with a 14mm socket and ratchet.

Locate the ABS sensor wire on the back of the hub. there is a plastic cover over the plug that must be removed to access the button on the bottom to release the plug.

At this point the hub can be removed.

Pull the brake backing plate away from the axle flange and slide the spacer shim into place.

Line up the shim and put the backing plate back into position.

Put some red loc-tite on the supplied bolts and bolt the hub back on. Leave the bolts loose until all four have been started. Torque to about 40 foot pounds.

Plug the ABS sensor wire back onto the hub.

Reinstall drum.

Put the wheel back on, torque it down, and lower the car back to the ground.
stand back and admire your new wide stance.

Spacer shims now in stock for xA, xB, xD, and Yaris...Cube coming soon.

Awseome DIY review Tim! Most excellent way to contribute to the forum. Looked like it took about 20-30 minutes from start to finish?

Thanks, glad we could help...Can we get it stickied?

I would say 30 minutes or so...We did this like 3 times that day because I tried different sized spacers and were able to nail it down in less than 10 minutes start to finish for each side...

Thanks....It looked good with the TRD's but when I switched to the DF's i had to remove them because I rubbed like crazy even after grinding the inner fender lip...I need to run a stretched set up in the rear...

Curious, did you sell your TRD's or do you still have them?

I hate to say I told you so, Tim, but...

it does sux, I really would like to widen my wheel stance like that too, but to do that, you def can't go any lower than a TRD drop... And I don't want to have to modify my fenders... If someone made replacement flared fenders like in a body kit, that would be great, but then I'd never be able to afford it anyway, lol...
