Yeah, a fat lip.. Looks sweet. Hey Martin, your wheels are 18X8 Front, and 18X9 Rear. what are your offsets? I PMed you a while ago about the wheels I am interested in, and they are 18X8 Front, and 18X9 Rear, both with a +35 offset. Will they fit?? Seems like you thought they would, I just wanted to be sure.

Here are the ones I want. These come in a staggered fitment with the lip in front at 2 inches, and the lip for the rears at 3 inches. Also will have the red stripe custom painted Hot Lava Orange..

What are you dropped on? I am running 18 X 8 all the way around and swapped out my TRD for Tanabe DF210's...I only rubbed in the rear on large bumps with the TRD's...With the Tanabe's, I had to grind the rear fender lip...You will be fine in the front, but the 18 X 9 in a 35 offset may rub...

well hope this helps, here is what i'm on with tein basics (back is ALL the way down, front got a few more cranks) and have no rubbing issues at all. even loaded up the whole trunk, back seat and front seat with stuff and hit some big dips and didn't rub.

18" x 8.5" +37 NR / 18" x 9" +40 SL

---------- Post added at 06:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:37 PM ----------

i think next set i order i'll for sure go 9.5 on the rear. not as excited with 9 on the rear as i thought would be.

I have an RS1 with the TRD springs it came with. With the offset at +35 in the rear what are my options? Cut the inner fender? Or are these wheels just not going to work?

Thanks you guys, I really like the staggered look of those wheels, and I hope with the TRD's the rubbing wont be to bad. If I have to cut the rear fenderwells, I guess I'll break out the grinder..

Definately need to run a stretched tire...I'm wishing I had a stretched fitment, but unfortunatley I'm running a 225/40/18...CAn't wait for these things to go bald so I can swap them out...If you have to run the 225/40 series, be prepared to do this:

running 225/40/18 fits perfect no rubbing after i cut out the inner fender lip : ) make sure you use some clear nail polish on all that exposed metal so it dont rust : )

Tim, are you running 18x8 wheels in the rear or 18x9?
Is running a 225/40/18 tire on a 18X9 in. wheel stretched? I want to put these on the rear.
How about a 205/40/18 tire on a 18x8 wheel, stretched? I want these on the front.

Ok, gotta remember offset plays a big role...I am running 18 x 8 (35 offset) and dropped on Tanabe DF210 springs...I did rub with this set up so I had to grind inner fender and yes I did use the factory touch up paint to prevent rust...

Now when I ran this same set-up with the TRD springs, I only rubbed in the rear over large bumps...

All this is with a 225/40/18 tire...

225/40/18 on a 18 x 9 is really not that stretched...You could run 215/40/18 or even a 205/40/18 I think...

205/40/18 would be a perfect stretch i would think for 18 x 8...Any others wanna chime in?

Kory should go 18x9 35offset.. screw it just add 10mm spacers.. cheaper! and instead of new wheels bag it!

ok so how do you stretch tires? I asked a few local shops if they could and all of them laughed at the notion...

alot of tire shops dont know how or wont due it due to liablility reasons... your probably going to have to go a specialty car shop and even some of them wont do it.... when ever they have done mine they have just used highly compressed air to make the tire beads seat although on my xb they need to use hairspray and a lighter to make them seat and then fill them with air... just youtube tire stretching and it will show you a few different ways
