2010 Car Shows

Car Show! Car Show! lol, got up early today, loading up my xD for my first car show of the season... doin' the pre-show morning rituals. Leaving the house at 10am, show is from 11-4.

This is a local "all-model" event being held at the County Vo-Tech school, but I was told there would be quite a few import/tuners there, fortunately - too many of these shows are mainly Classic/Muscle Car/Hot Rod shows, so a late-model Scion usually looks WAY out of place at a show like that. ah well, we'll see how it goes. Gonna be displaying my illustrated Cylon engine cover that TedDeviant done-did-up for me, anxious to see what comments I get... if they say it looks dumb, I'll be sure to tell them Ted did it, not me...! LOL, JK, Ted!

SO anyone make it to any shows yet this year? Post up! One thing I've noticed, I haven't seen ANY Scion-sponsored or Scion-Dealer-Hosted All-Scion shows in this area at all this season yet, by this time last year we had 2 or 3... hope it's not going to be like this all season. Dang economy!

A show put on near Valdosta (with the help of some Valdosta Scikotics)

Also did a parade in Deland. Not really a show but got to show off. lol

i don't really enter shows to compete, i'm usually in shows for display purposes for the dealership. but so far for Scions we had.....

Motortrend's First Hawaiian International Auto Show (displayed in a Scion Evolution booth next to Scion dealership)
Pure ExpreScion 6 (Scion dealership sponsored Scion Show)
Burger's on the Edge Scion Night (SE hosted show)

and there's a bunch of other big show's in the works here in Hawaii, even SPOCOM is coming.

Well, I don't go to the all-model events with the idea of winning anything - it's just an opportunity to display the car to the public. That's still a lot of fun. It's only at the Scion shows that I like to actually compete...

Anyway, I just got back from the York VoTech show, it was a beautiful, sunny day with a cloudless sky, temps in the mid 60's. Nice enough that my face and lips got some sunburn, lol! Of course, I didn't win anything; my car was in the Sport Compact division with about 30 cars in it, some Pontiac all done up for show-only display won the trophy. Big wing, rainbow-glitter custom paint job, the works. That's typical in these kind of shows, I could never compete with my daily-driver xD...

My car did get a lot of attention, though, especially the Cylon engine cover. A lot of people were gawking at and snapping photos of your artwork, Ted, you'd be proud!

Awesome!!! I'm glad people liked the art work!

I haven't been able to attend any shows yet this year, although I believe there has only been one show in my area so far, I will say though that I am going to blow up the scene this year.
