Default push starts...
theres a thread on SL and it made me finally take pics of the button i used for my push start. figured id post em here too. and you can post yours too, if you have push start on your xD.

yes, still needs a key, works the same way an S2000 does.

the button is from a camry, i think, also, my cruise control has been relocated since i have a different steering wheel. and i painted my cluster trim black.

i figured it wouldn;t be very hard since you don;t need to hold the key to start the car. you know, just click and let go

I was thinking of still using the key. My training of thought is to cut the wire that leads to the "start" on the key hole itself, run it to a momentary switch. put the key in push the button, done. But I know nothing of the wiring, so IDK if this will work...

My training of thought is that when the key is turned to the "start" position a contact is made that starts the car... so theoretically a momentary push button that is wired up should do the same thing... my only concern is if I will need the key to be in the "start" position for the switch to actually work, or If I can leave it in the "on" position... or even worse if the push button will work without a key at all... that would suck, how would you turn the car off... IDK...

no key should start the car but you would not be able to turn the wheel until a key is put in.

i would think.

for roughly $400, you could buy this and set it up keyless....
http://www.digitalguarddawg.com
it is an active RFID system and all you would need is the key fob within 10 ft of the car, push the start button, and PRESTO!

...but yes, you still need to get around that darn steering wheel lock option...
