well, like i said its still a consept. I may keep it wood because I love the way wood sounds. As of right now its will be 2 10" subs and 2 speakers to balance out the subs. the center one we were debating on puting a single tweet in there or using it as some sort of light source. I havent even thought of how power full it would be. I am definitely going for more show than go. I would realy like to keep it for SQ sounding.
OK nice concept again. I would say if only looking for SQ and wanting to be more show I would say 2 10s in a selaed enclosure would be better route. You will have more of a full range on them in sealed and the 10 will require less air space. I would maybe do like 2 6 1/2 or maybe 6x9s in the wall area along with some tweeters and then mount your amps to the wall.
I would combo wood and fiberglass for show. Wood to create box for subs and main structure. then foberglass the iPAD and and other speaker pods on the wall. Wood would be easier and possible cheaper to work with for design you show, but fiberglass would allow you to create more curves and designs easier.
For power if not looking for alot you could probalby get away with 500 or so amps. 250 per 10 and that would give nice sound to fill in what is missing but not over do it and less need to go with additional power. I would say 1000 watts max. Only problem is you may get into needed power upgrades . I was running 1000 watts rms on two twelves and it sounded good but if I was railing it and the car was running it would shut the car off on heavy bass notes. HOWEVER, i was only running batter underhood and no extra cap or anything. what was happening is the voltage drop in the car sucked so bad that on heavy bass hits it was taking all the power from the car and by doing this it was taking power going to throttle (since it is elcetronic) and causing it to close off completely and kill the car. I may be a fluke but it happened to only my car, but it happened multiple times. Not necessarily one every HEAVY bass hit but on a couple of songs where where it was constant repetition of HEAVY Bass hits for a period of time. the car couldn't rebuild the power and in some cases on really heavy hits where it would take alot of power to create. My set up was geared toward SPL GO.
In your case you shouldn't have that issue.
The power in scions is not the best. I didn't have issues with my first gen xb but I had a second battery in the back and HO alternator.
Are you coming to the Frank Peterson show tomorrow? If so we can talk

NOT to thread jack. Just to know I know a little of where I am coming from. lol
AS for my system before anyone post this was not my first setup with improper tuning causing my issue. I have had multiple. This was a ported box with 2 12s and 2 cubic feet of space for subs not counting port. I was hitting 144.6. I was first in a couple of shows with it. I will say for this setup is was more I just didn't have the proper power and I knew and know that.
rear, the ipad in the center may also be a small computer monitor. I already have the amps needed and the 2 6x9 and the 2 12" subs. I just need the box and what ever will be in the middle. I also want to upgrade my alternator.

How much power your going to run?
Alternator is nice but you would benefit more from an extra battery over an alternator.

If not pumping major power and if going to be using more power when at idle or power off and second battery would be better route.
Well I currently have a 1000 watt amp for my 2 12" subs but between the 2 subs and the 2 6x9s I dont plan on running nothing more than 1200-1500 tops. I would still be happy if I can power everything and get great sound with 1000 watts over all.
just my .02 i ran 1300 watts rms on a single 10 for 2 years with nothing other than slight headlight dimming (planet audio class D mono 1350.1 & blaupunkt vw1000)
just burned the amp up in december last year from the thermal compound breaking down and the amp not getting enough cooling.
just put in a alpine pdx-1000.1 putting 1000 watts on it rms still no issues
not sure why you were seeing that drastic of a power loss
oh and to stay on topic, the box looks good although show style is not really my thing, should look boss once its done
thanks. its still and planning. I'm debating on going with my more elegant one with the "floating" ipad or going with the more reasonable one. If I get my elegant one I will have to find a way to make it smaller or figure out how I'm going to place it when I remove my back seat.

P.S. Just to let you know I'm currently running 2 12" Sony Xplodes at 1000 watts and 750ish rms. I think its just a little over kill lol.

True. Well every car is different. So maybe I have a weak alternator or something.
And to think about it, my faulty waterpump was on the car at the time so maybe it had something to do with it. meaning I believe it was creating an extra drag on the motor as it was being faulty (it was dragging when turning not turning freely). So maybe extra load of slamming the system slowed the motor more and was killing power output from alt.
I am going to be doing a new system at 1000 or more RMS I am in designing stages myself. but mine is different since I got to figure power for amp and compressors and also work in air setup with my system and I CANNOT lose the rear seats. so Mine will take some nice design.
Simmons you should be fine with 1000w RMS, but I would personally add second Battery over alternator.

is the 1000 Watts peak power.
I never pay attention to peak power. it really means nothing. RMS means every thing
Also depending how you look at it 1000 Watts RMS is not overkill lol

No doubt. I've always used 1500 watts as my limit without capacitor/battery upgrades.
i've never had to upgrade my alternator or know anybody that has other than james long (and his setup in his xD used to be ridiculous), and i know a few people with some serious systems, though james's definitly takes the cake
also agree that 1000 watts isnt overkill, james was running something like 15000 watts on his system in his xd i think lol, to me thats overkill
I think 1000 watts is actually about perfect for a daily driver sub system, as far as good balance , performance, while still maintaining practicality
^^^ thats not overkill for what he used it for. hell I would do it. but he also had a crap ton of batteries.. lol. and the alt he got is the one I am going to go with.
But I will be running multiple compressors and amps and need extra batteries and alt just for good measure.
I am looking at probably total system of around 2000 to 2500 with about 1000 to 1500 being subs

I guess thats true haha, it was a ridiculous system though lol.
Im bout to upgrade my sub to an FI BL/SSA Icon/Incriminator Death row 12, and I'll probably have him build the box for it
are you running the black xplods matt? 1200w max/500rms. i remember those being a pretty decent sub for what they were.
Ya the xplods are really nice. 1200w max/500rms is the right. I love them. I say its over kill, because I listen to everything, it can go from almost no bass and the next song will be just insane. All mirrors will have to be readjusted. But I think that about 1500 watts for 2 12s and 2 6x9s will be perfect.
