I am running the one with three deviants on it... I love it, I am a little disappointed in how it looks when lit up, I was expecting a blacker black background...

thats my biggest complaint too, no one can seem to find the material that OEM gauges are made out of.

ok, sorry, but I'm a total noob at guage mods, how is it actually done? Can you buy pre-made guage templates for the xD (i've never seen any anywhere), or you have to make them yourself, and how?

I also always wondered how hard it is to pull the guage assy out in an xD? Is there major dash dis-assembly, or just a few trim pieces to remove like in the xB2? I was interested in doing an LED swap sometime...

customxbgauges.com makes custom gauges for the xD
and yea if you pull the plastic trim piece out, its only a couple of screws to remove the cluster, then its just clips...

Are they going to add instruction on how to install their gauges on XD? I have no idea how to take the dash apart.

The kit comes with instructions on how to remove the needles etc. It just doesnt tell you how to get it out of the car, to remove the cluster all you need to do is pull the plastic trim piece out, then unscrew it and disconnect the wires. Thats it, its really easy...

Does the kit's instruction include how to open up the dashboard? Or just how to remove the needle part? I hope they have a step by step picture instructions, it'd make it easier for people like me who never taken apart the ScionXD's dashboard before.

You said disconnect the wires, what kind of wires are they?

it's just a wiring harness that you unplug. no wrong way to unplug it and plugs right back in.

I am working my custom xD, as are most, but that material is called mylar plastic. You can find it at most craft stores for making stencils.

Im new on here, so Im gonna be bringing up some DEAD topics. However, Im going to share most of my projects.
