I'm sharing my Scion xD 2010 with someone right now, and when they put gas in it, they usually only put in about $10 or $15 worth, which is a little less than or about half a tank.
They notice when they do this, the bar indicating how much gas is in the car goes up to where it should, but the "# of miles left to drive before you run out of gas" indicator (for lack of knowing what the real term is
does not go up. Instead, it just keeps going down as you drive. Not sure what happens when it gets to zero yet. It was at about 2 miles when I just turned my car off.
I'm not worried that the car is going to stop working when it gets to 0, because I know there's gas in it, but I was wondering if there might be a way to reset it or have it re-scan the gas tank somehow.
