Looks like Scion has done their homework with this super sleek roadster debuting at the New York International Auto Show.
If this is any indication of what's in store from our beloved Scion, we are all going to line up and trade in our xD's. Well, maybe some of us!
This 2.0 liter front engined, rear wheel drive, beauty is sure to be a grand slam if they release it.

Scion FR-S Concept
If next year's production version is anywhere near as stunning as the FR-S concept, Scion won't be able to build these sports coupes fast enough. The FR-S (short for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive Sport) is a modern take on Toyota's beloved AE86 Corolla, with a compact 2.0-liter boxer engine that sits back and low, which balances the car's front-to-rear weight ratio, and keeps the center of gravity low. We can live without the razor-sharp spikes jutting from the rear fenders, but if Scion scales down the oversize 8.5 and10-inch-wide tires to less eccentric proportions, that might be a tragedy.
yea, it looks great. I like the concave wheel with the over pronounced fenders. But the line are courtesy of a well known bodykit company that designs Scions. I'm just confused as to why this doesn't have the lighting of the FT debuted a Geneva.
So have they officially said they are going to make this thing? I mean, I've seen many concepts come into the picture for other cars but not many actually stick around. I for one would love to get this car, even if that means trading in my xD. But until the news is official then its just eye candy for now... so lets begin the bug eyes and the drooling!

oh, and does anyone know what the actually production model will look like?
tghe issue I hace is the amount of concepts making the rounds. the final design is about as mysterious as the drivetrain. But since I haven't seen one in person, I guess the pics are all really good photoshops. I'll believe it when I see it.
Well they are going to make it but they have no idea how the final designed is going to end up.. took them forever to decide to name it a scion instead of toyota...
I'm not going to lie, toyota defidently fits the name better than scion but I'm not complaining. For some reason when I look at this car it reminds of a car version of the IQ
Yes, the Subie should be turbo'ed and awd, but I like Rwd. I love my car, but any second thought to another would be for this Toybaru. I'm so conflicted!
I've heard Subaru may not sell it's coupe here. makes sense as who would buy a NA boxer when a AWD turbo version is available? I wouldn't
well price is gonna be different as well so im sure that would play a good role as to what car they gonna get. toyota claims 20-25k as to the subaru im pretty sure they going to want at least 30k.
can't imagine it to be more than than a WRX since that's basically what it is. so that's $25K about. this is why the pricing of this car makes no sense and doesn't fit into the Scion lineup. well, maybe the tC2 will be nixed and the FR-S will change into a tC...FT-C Celica in Japan. Geez, who knows....But the tC2, despite how great of a driving car it is, is a failure no doubt. My best analogy was tC1...Lexus for the price of a Corolla. tC2...Corolla for the price of a Lexus. $23K for a tC2? The Geneva FT with all it's fancyness looked like a $30K car. no way all that LED lighting technology comes cheap. cheapest Toyota I can find with LED headlights is $30K and it's a Prius. Most expensive is $120K. anyone guess what it is?
My best analogy was tC1...Lexus for the price of a Corolla. tC2...Corolla for the price of a Lexus. $23K for a tC2?
I'm going to say this the nicest way I can but that is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read. The tC2 is a superior car to the tC1 in almost every performing way measurable. Looks are subjective and it seems the older Scion guys have a hate boner for anything that seems to stray away from what they think a Scion should look like. 2011 Scion MSRP is 18,995 BTW not no damn 23K.
no offense taken, but that's the thought process of the haters....I like the new tC for it's hamdling dynamics. I'd take it over the old one easily. I have no idea what my next car will ever be. We owned a tC1 and it was a great cruiser. new car needs less to no work for fun driving
the new tc does look nice but not pressed about it. The xd is a small go kart that handles well with enough torque to get it jumping from a dig. Once I lowered it , intake, exhaust, and pulley upgrade it was all fun from there.Great with gas if its not pushed too. But sadly this mite be the year ima let go of the xd. starting to want a bigger and faster sedan. Might just go back to volvo and get a s60R . Just gas prices makes me re-consider tho haha
