For painting the rear emblem, is it better to take it off or paint it on the car itself? o:

Oh, and i removed my 'xD' emblem and painted it flat black wih Rustoleum. Should i re-do the paint and use a primer and dry/wet sand it with 2000 grit sandpaper? And what type of adhesive do you guys recommend for reinstalling the 'xD' symbol? Sorry for the double post!
I bought Plasti-Dip btw!
