A good xD follow up

I sorta think this would make a good next xD .This way the xB would get a chance to shrink down a bit ( which I believe it will ).And still keep a smaller 4dr. I'm sure it must be related to the up coming IQ, both being rear engined and such.

A Japanese magazine has published an artist’s image of what possibly could be Toyota’s answer to costlier variants of the Tata Nano. The car apparently is due in 2012 .The magazine reports the new compact will head to India in 2012. It will have a 2-cylinder 800cc engine that will be placed over the rear axle. The dimensions of this car are 3150*1535*1600 (L*W*H)

never sell here. I think alot of people underestimate how small a kei-car really is. xB/bB looks like a tahoe compared to some, especially that one. i got to see a QNC bB finally and it is smaller than the previous bB. hence the reason it was not offered to replace our xB1. i belive Toyota is pushing their luck with Scion offering the iQ anyway

Arwen 03-25-2010 02:39 PM

Agreed. American consumers just don't want compact cars...period. I'm crossing my fingers for the iQ, but it's a long shot imho.

CXTKRS1 03-25-2010 07:10 PM

I agree, my xD is the absolute smallest car I could go with.

TheLittleDeviant 03-26-2010 09:11 AM

Lol, I work for Scion and I think the iQ will be a flop...

x2cafn8dx 03-26-2010 10:18 AM

Ted.. are we actually getting the diesel? That's the only reason I would consider it.

JDMJim 03-26-2010 11:58 AM

diesel? are you kidding? you could drive around the world in a diesel iQ. the oil companies will rebel and diesel prices will be insane! there are alor of cars that we should have thatare offed in diesel. even Subaru has/had a diesel legacy flat6.

x2cafn8dx 03-26-2010 12:06 PM

shhh.. let me dream :P

stupid Fiesta didn't come over here in diesel either.. dad was prepared to trade his RV for one if they did

TheLittleDeviant 03-26-2010 01:14 PM

Nope not getting a diesel iQ... I hear the motor will be a 1.3L

ghey.. union motors has the market cornered as far as cars go

JDMJim 03-27-2010 01:36 PM

no oil companies get to say i bet on whats diesel and then they jack up the price on it. I remember when diesel was uber cheap gas. but a 1.3 98 hp auto will be as quick as our auto xB1's, xA's, Yaris, etc.

CXTKRS1 03-28-2010 01:29 PM

Car companies themselves are not releasing diesels in America, it has nothing to do with the oil companies.

x2cafn8dx 03-28-2010 04:57 PM

i wish they would

Arwen 03-29-2010 06:12 PM

VW does have 4 models available here with diesel engines. The Golf is especially sexy...2.0l turbo diesel: http://www.vw.com/golf/en/us/?tab=tdi

The Audi A3 TDI is *drool*

In 2009, the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG endorsed the creation of an integrated automotive group with Porsche under the leadership of Volkswagen.
sometimes called Union Motors

JDMJim 03-29-2010 09:49 PM

and if every car was released with a diesel model, how would that effect gas prices? the oil companies would not like that and raise diesel prices beyond repair

x2cafn8dx 03-30-2010 07:29 AM

I just want a diesel for reliability and gas mileage :)

and TDI's are expensive
