Scion xD: quiet forum

Where's the life in here? :party33:

I'm quickly learning it's a small family of xD owners in general...LOL

Oh well, I'm loving the little car!

simmons0613 08-08-2011 04:29 PM

haha, it is a very small family and its hard to get aftermarket help for these cars. You have to be very creative and handy to fab your own stuff. We just need something to help relight the spark in the xD

xd_kidd 08-08-2011 05:36 PM

Took you this long to realize this? Haha jp but yea small it is in all xd forums. Scionlife is pretty slow like here nd scikotics is completly dead. Not many aftermarket parts available for our cars so not much to talk about either

htheduck 08-08-2011 07:32 PM

I don't have any immediate mod plans for the this car -> been there done all that.

I want to keep this car plain Jane and just drive it to/from work...but the xD forums have so little traffic! lol

jester4666 08-08-2011 07:48 PM

i like that the RS1 came factory modded, less urge for me to do anything immediately to my car.

simmons0613 08-09-2011 10:49 AM

Pretty much everything that you can do with this car has already been done. But hey try and be creative. You never know what you can make

jester4666 08-09-2011 08:20 PM

i found a few things i can do, but i'm not in a hurry to do them.

htheduck 08-09-2011 09:07 PM

Still looking for traffic in this forum! LOL, I guess it is, what it is.

The xD is a small community of owners, for me: xD was a car to replace a daily driver: a 94 integra, with 258k on it, and it still ran with about 26mpg-it was donated today actually... :(

I came from the SRT4 & Bimmer forums, which were quite busy; and in which I actually met a bunch of local tC owners... :)

As for bolt ons, xD goes into NYC each day:
-no need for someone to steal my other $ rims; we'll keep the steelies on!
-already got one nail in the rear right tire driving into/from Manhattan
-as for power, the xD by definition is not power...(full)

Compared to other cars I've owned-it's a value driven car and I'm liking it each day.

simmons0613 08-10-2011 10:10 AM

it is a good car but not much support. If you have the time and coin to pay you can get alot of power out of these cars, but its going to be alot of money.

jester4666 08-10-2011 11:09 AM

intake, header, exhaust is about all i'd do while still paying for mine. i found a couple turbo set ups last night, but that's way down the line if at all. i like my 30+mpg i'm getting for now.

simmons0613 08-11-2011 07:11 AM

those are not reliable setups. The only true scion xd turbo setups are on the Rally xD, and they had Greddy make it just for them.

JDMJim 08-11-2011 08:08 AM

xA/xD just didn't get the love Scion expected. I feel they really are wasting their time with RS models these days. everyone just complains about them anyway. save for some exterior dress up items and axleback mufflers, yea, let your imagination make the rest of the aftermarket for the car. in other words, DIY.

Whack-A-Mole 08-11-2011 08:18 AM

Yeah I hear ya. Not much love at all. One curious thing is on another forum is a 10th gen corolla fit a OBX header designed for the 03-08 1zz-fe onto his 2zr-fe. So if turbokits.com made a kit for the 03-08 corolla, there would be a good chance the turbo manifold would fit the 2zr-fe. So there's that. I don't know if they would just sell the manifold or what. I'm not 100% sure of this, but just may be.

jester4666 08-11-2011 09:22 AM

i know the universal setups are not reliable...just mentioning that i ran across some. my car is gonna be a daily/show car anyway. i'm not worried about messing with the powerplant all that much. i need to keep it reliable. it's all sound & dress up for now.

xd_kidd 08-11-2011 03:03 PM

Not towards you guys but idk how people get that the 1zz headers will bolt to the 2zr other than its from the previous gen butt yea ima have to disagree that we're down with the xa... ptuning offers short blocks for the xa/ xb1 and soo many other parts. But yea when spring comes up ima see what power mods ii wld get my xd. Ii was considering trading in but ii been through a lot wif this car nd regret "unfinishing" it lol. My goal is to have some hi comp pistons. Cams. Valve springs and retainers. Even if it means having it custom done. Then a tune ... we'll see what happens

JDMJim 08-11-2011 03:36 PM

don;t get me wrong, there is stuff for the xA, just no one messes with them anymore than a xD.

xd_kidd 08-11-2011 04:13 PM

I'll agree to that.. ii almost considered getn that just cause ii saw the blk vip style one but glad ii didn't. No offense if u own one. Though ii do like rs1 version lol

Like I said before, I'm not 100%, but this guy said he did it.
