The overall diameter is only .2 inches more than the stock size. My new rims are 17" . The guy I got them from works for Cooper and they were only used for 2 months. They look like brand new! My son was so jealous when he saw them...LOL! He bought the rims at Summit Racing which is pretty close to me. The rims alone are $135 each, new.

Cylon_xD 01-24-2010 10:39 PM

Haha, OK, optical illusion, then - I wouldn't be able to tell the tires were only .2" larger from the photo, lol!

BowdilxD 01-24-2010 10:56 PM

Probably since they're just sitting there with no weight on them. I think when I get them mounted on the car it will look sit pretty close to where it is now. But it will look soooo much nicer :)

Here's a couple pics of my Katana wheels - very similar to yours only 5 spoke and the back part of the spokes are painted black... these were taken before I lowered the car, the fenders are now flush with the top of the tires:

Both are looking great, Keelie, make sure you post pics of them on, oh and yes $300 is a great deal

YELOSUB 01-25-2010 10:59 AM

They look good and that is a great price...Score!

TheLittleDeviant 01-25-2010 12:16 PM

Tim, how did you get the D to sit that low in the pic? took the springs out? or had Albert sit in the hatch? Hey, Hey, Heeey!

YELOSUB 01-25-2010 05:35 PM

Pulled the rear springs out :)

TheLittleDeviant 01-25-2010 05:59 PM

Thought so, looks good slammed

Zstamp19 01-26-2010 03:49 PM

They're 18x8 I'm not sure on tire size and I'm running on the trd springs that came on my car when I bought it

Figure I'll go ahead and throw myself onto this forum with this post. Here's my 2 sets of wheels, the OZ's are currently tireless about to get stripped for green, red or orange paint (undecided)

OZ's are 16x7 +35 offset, stock 195/60/16 tires.

YELOSUB 01-27-2010 08:59 PM

You should be fine with the above set up...

Zstamp19 01-27-2010 09:05 PM

Cool well I'm going to get them when I get that tax return

BowdilxD 03-20-2010 10:53 AM

So I got home from work yesterday and my son was waiting on me. He said "mom, you gotta let me put your new rims on"
1/2 hour later he informs me that it looks SIK and he was taking my car to the mall. As soon as I can get my car back, I'll take pics and post them...LOL
He did leave me the keys to his '89 Civic hatchback ! Wanna see pics of that???

Cylon_xD 03-20-2010 12:30 PM

ugh.

You're lucky I don't have any pictures of my '75 Civic jellybean-mobile... :bleh:

BowdilxD 03-20-2010 03:43 PM

whats up new to the forums..i hail from the land of stretch and poke..lips are the way to go vw world lol

had my xd now for over a year and i figured..im done with projects might as well lower the bitch lol

thinking of goin with the DF210's and throwing a rear sway on..

now my question is..im looking at a set of staggard 17x8's for the front and 17x9's for the rear..while running those springs..

issue ive come across is that the damn wheels i want only come in ET48 for the 17x8's

and for the 17x9's is ET42

would i be better off running 9's all around? with stretch on the tires for sure

what am i looking to do for rear fitment issues? im down to cut grind and roll if need be..

wheels in question..concave style 7 spoke..aka te37 knockoff's

TheLittleDeviant 03-22-2010 10:47 AM

Looking good Keelie!

Mike, I am running 17x8 +35 and they sit flush. If you run the 9's with the higher offset you should be good with only a little grinding like Tim did earlier in this thread.
